Do you keep stock for common gabion sizes?
Yes. We keep standard u003cstrongu003egabion baskets and mattressesu003c/strongu003e in stock (common sizes such as 2×1×1 m, 2×1×0.5 m, 3×1×1 m; mesh 60×80 / 80×100 mm; popular wire/coating options). u003cstrongu003e3–5 day dispatchu003c/strongu003e for stock items.
Do I need a geotextile behind the wall?
Yes, a non-woven PP/PE geotextile 150–300 g/m² is recommended to stop fines and separate soil from the gabion, especially for retaining walls and hydraulic works.
How are panels connected and kept square on site?
Connect edges with spirals or C-rings and lace the corners; install internal stiffeners about every 0.5 m to keep faces flat before filling the lid.
What foundation preparation is required?
Build on a level, compacted, non-erodible base. Use a 100–150 mm gravel bedding and, for riverbanks, add geotextile and a keyed-in toe trench if needed.
How long do welded gabions last?
Service life depends on environment and coating. Inland sites with HDG typically see 10–25 years; Zn-Al (Galfan) lasts longer; PVC over-coating extends life in marine or abrasive conditions.
Can welded gabions form curves or irregular lines?
They are best for straight, clean faces. For gentle curves use shorter panels and stepped segments; for tight curves or moving ground, use woven (hexagonal) gabions.
